IELTS Reading; Tip Strip ( Important tips to help you do better in the IELTS Reading Section)

  1. While you are doing a task type in the Reading section, you should know that sometimes two different task types may focus on the same part of a text. However, they will not be testing exactly the same information.
  2. When you are doing 'Multiple choice--Main idea of the passage', be careful that your opinions do not interfere with your choice of answer. Remember you are looking for the writer's idea, not your own.
  3. Diagram labeling----This task type may relate to one section of the text, or to several paragraphs.
  4. Locating information in paragraphs----These type of questions concentrate on details within a text, whereas paragraph heading questions tend to focus on main ideas. Meanwhile, you should remember that some paragraphs may not contain any of the required information.
  5. Note completion----In this task type, the word provided in the box may not be same as the words in the text. LOOK FOR THE PARALLEL MEANINGS.
  6. Multiple-choice questions----In this task type, when you think you have found the correct answer to a multiple-choice question, remember to check that the other three options  are definitely wrong.
